The Jalon Valley

The Jalon Valley is the Costa Blanca’s lungs. A green, beautiful swathe of agricultural land heading inland from the costa’s beaches and flanked by dramatic mountains and covered in vines, almond, olive, orange and lemon groves.

Although well discovered by British and other Northern Europeans who live or holiday in the area, it has largely maintained its Spanish culture in the whitewashed valley villages.

It is ideal for the holidaymaker who wants a peaceful stay in spectacular scenery but with easy accessibility to the beaches and attractions of the coast.

The valley is famous for its wine and fruit, its colourful festivals, the huge Saturday rastro in Jalon and the spectacular show of almond blossom found early in the year.

It offers a wealth of activities including horse riding, walking, rock climbing, cycling, golf and scenic mountain drives.

The nearby villages of Jalon, Alcalali, Lliber, Orba, Murla and Tarbena can all be easily reached by a short drive and have interesting characteristics and plenty of restaurants, shops, cafes and bars, while there is a supermarket in Jalon, a 10 minute drive from the villa.
